METHODOLOGY

Data Sources and Methodology

insigtX consolidates public, verifiable data and keeps facts, interpretation and limitations distinct. This page explains where each data class comes from, when it normally updates, how we align definitions, and which conclusions the data cannot support on its own.

SCOPE

Scope

This methodology applies to whale signals, institutional holdings, crypto ETF flows, RWA tokenization, corporate treasury holdings, stablecoins, and cross-sector capital and infrastructure content on the insigtX website and App. Disclosure schedules vary by dataset. A page timestamp identifies the source event or publication time; it does not mean every dataset is real time.

SOURCES & FREQUENCY

Primary sources and update cadence

Data classPrimary sourcesTypical cadenceMain limitations
On-chain transfers and balancesPublic blockchains, nodes and block explorersNear real time, subject to confirmation and indexing speedAn address is not an identity; labels can change or be wrong
Institutional holdings and company disclosurePublic 13F, 13D/G, 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K filings on SEC EDGARWhen filed; Form 13F may be filed up to 45 days after quarter endHistorical point-in-time disclosure, not a live position; each form has a different scope
Crypto ETF flowsIssuer, exchange and related public disclosuresUsually after the trading day, commonly T+1Definitions of creations, redemptions, net flow and asset change can differ
Prices and cross-asset market dataPublic market data and disclosed data-service providersAccording to market and provider schedulesTime zones, sessions, FX timestamps and adjustment policies create differences
News and public statementsRegulatory filings, company and exchange announcements, and traceable public sourcesAt source publication timeEarly reporting can be incomplete; later corrections can change the known facts

“Typical cadence” describes the source's normal disclosure schedule, not a service-level commitment. Source delays, maintenance, market holidays and upstream outages can change the actual update time.

PROCESSING

How we process data

01

Preserve provenance

Record the source, original publication time and collection time; link to primary disclosure whenever it is available.

02

Normalize time

Sort internally on a common time basis while showing readable timestamps, so events from different time zones are not misordered.

03

Resolve identifiers

Use stable identifiers for companies, funds, assets and public addresses; alias merges require verifiable support.

04

Deduplicate and correct

Merge duplicate reports of one event; update the page and modification date when a source corrects or materially changes the facts.

AI INTERPRETATION

Limits of AI interpretation

AI is used to summarize, classify and explain public information. It should not present an inference as a verified fact. Pages aim to distinguish facts stated by the source, interpretations based on several public signals, and what remains unconfirmed.

  • A transfer alone does not prove a purchase, sale or change in beneficial ownership.
  • Address labels are analytical leads, not legal proof of identity.
  • Form 13F reflects a quarter-end position with a disclosure lag; it is not a live portfolio.
  • ETF flows, price changes and custody-wallet movements can coincide, but correlation does not establish causation.

LIMITATIONS

Known limitations

Public data can be incomplete, delayed, corrected or defined differently. Platforms may disagree because they consolidate addresses differently, include or exclude derivatives, classify assets differently, use different FX or price timestamps, define creations and redemptions differently, or apply different reporting cut-offs. We do not hide those differences to produce a falsely precise number.
