Affirm Beats Estimates with Strong Growth
Affirm reported quarterly earnings per share of $4.62 and revenue of $11.7 billion, beating the analyst consensus of $11.1 billion and up from $8.764 billion in the same period last year. Gross merchandise volume reached $116 billion, up 35% year-over-year, while total transaction volume grew 45% to 45 million transactions, outpacing overall GMV growth. Affirm reported EPS of $4.62.

Affirm guided first-quarter revenue to a range of $11.9 billion to $12.2 billion, versus the analyst estimate of $11.6 billion. Affirm shares rose 7.76% to $83.44 in after-hours trading Thursday.

Subsequently, multiple analysts lowered their price targets: Morgan Stanley maintained an equal-weight rating and cut its target to $17; TD Cowen maintained a hold rating and cut its target to $18; Wells Fargo maintained an overweight rating and cut its target to $21.
Insider Buying Continues
Separately, according to a Form 4 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Klarna disclosed that CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski purchased 692,506 common shares through an affiliated entity on August 26, valued at approximately $10 million. This purchase further underscores a broad pattern of insider buying at Klarna this year — Chairman Michael Moritz previously bought 3.47 million shares in March for approximately $49.9 million, and Chief Product & Design Officer David Fock purchased 27,000 shares around the same time.
