Anthropic Unifies Claude Chat and Cowork Interface, Launches New Multithreaded Projects

PANews, September 18 - Anthropic announced the merger of Claude Chat and Cowork into a unified interface, where Claude automatically determines and routes different types of requests, allowing users to use Chat, Cowork, Artifacts, and Claude Design in the same window without switching between tabs. The company also launched Claude Docs and Claude Slides, supporting collaborative creation of documents and presentations, mobile viewing of task progress, and exporting presentations to PowerPoint or PDF. This experience will first roll out to Pro and Max users in the coming weeks, then expand to the free tier and Team plans.

Additionally, Anthropic is testing a new version of Projects within Claude Code. When users set goals and connect code repositories or context, a coordinator can break down tasks, dispatch multiple cloud threads in parallel, review results, and deliver summaries; each thread shares project memory and asset libraries, suitable for long-term, multi-step workflows. The new Projects is currently being tested with some Pro and Max users using Claude Code cloud sessions.
