Bitcoin Developer Luke Dashjr Exits Mining Pool Ocean

Longtime Bitcoin developer Luke Dashjr has exited mining pool Ocean, resigning as chairman, chief technology officer, and director, while parent company Mummolin bought back all his shares. Both sides said the split was mutual, stemming from disagreements over the future direction of Bitcoin mining and recent protocol developments. Dashjr, a co-founder of Ocean, will launch a new mining project called Convoy. Ocean stated it will continue operating its transparent, non-custodial pool, paying mining rewards directly to participating miners. The departure follows a multi-week hiatus taken after the failure of BIP-110, a controversial proposal aimed at limiting non-financial data stored on Bitcoin.
