Financial analyst Beth Kindig cited I/O Fund's analysis on Monday, stating that despite a weak near-term outlook, Bitcoin's long-term price target is $2 million.

No Clear Bottom Signal Yet?

Kindig said in an X post that despite increasingly frequent calls for a Bitcoin bottom, multiple signals suggest the bear market may not be over yet.

I/O Fund's analysis found that Bitcoin's total trading volume has fallen to its lowest level in two years, indicating a lack of buying interest near recent lows.

The analysis found similarities with the 2022 bear market, which saw sharp vertical declines followed by chaotic and overlapping rebounds.

"The dominant trend has shown a clear shift, confirmed through simple trend analysis and volume analysis. Until these signals change, we remain cautious on any rebound," the analysis said.

Bitcoin is down 54% from its October high, and bottom calls are increasing, but the same signals that have put us on the right side of every major $BTC move since 2020 still point lower.

Bitcoin Long-Term Target of $2 Million?

I/O Fund said that while its medium-term outlook for Bitcoin is not "optimistic," the long-term outlook remains bullish.

"We believe the end of the current bear market cycle could trigger an abnormally strong rally. Our long-term technical roadmap points to Bitcoin eventually trading above $2 million," it added.

The analysis linked Bitcoin's potential to the U.S.'s ballooning debt problem, with a debt-to-GDP ratio of 121%. It said the government may print money to pay bills and shift the cost burden onto citizens through inflation.

"This is where Bitcoin becomes not just interesting, but structurally important. Unlike the dollar, which must expand by roughly 6% annually to cover deficits, Bitcoin cannot be inflated," I/O Fund said.

Bitcoin Breaks $80,000

The research comes as Bitcoin stages a strong rebound, breaking above the $80,000 mark for the first time in over three months.

Bitcoin rose about 22% in one week, compared with a typical weekly gain of about 3%. It also broke above its 200-day moving average.

Jordi Visser, head of AI macro research at 22V Research, said in a report released Monday that the move signals a major shift in the macro landscape.

Price performance: At the time of writing, BTC is trading at $80,210.28, up 4.22% over the past 24 hours, according to
