Bitwise Asset Management announced on Tuesday that it is deepening its tokenization push with the launch of automated token portfolios.

Own Your Assets via ATP

Bitwise, which manages $9 billion in assets, said its new ATP will use Coinbase's tokenized U.S. stocks, with portfolio implementation and automatic rebalancing handled by Glider.

According to the official press release, this will allow qualified investors outside the U.S. to automatically replicate professionally designed tokenized stock portfolios while maintaining custody of assets in their own wallets.

Unlike traditional funds, investors do not need to transfer assets into a pooled investment vehicle.

Tokenized stocks remain in users' non-custodial wallets, with Glider automatically adjusting positions to track Bitwise's published model portfolio weights.

The structure may also allow investors to use their tokenized holdings in DeFi protocols, including potentially lending them out.

From the 'Magnificent Seven' to AI and Robotics

Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan argued that tokenization can eliminate one of the traditional constraints of launching investment products—the time required to create and launch a fund or ETF.

The asset manager plans to launch its first three ATPs in the coming weeks.

The Bitwise Mag7X ATP will offer equal-weight exposure to the "Magnificent Seven," including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Tesla, as well as SpaceX.

The Bitwise Robotics ATP will target companies involved in robotics and autonomous systems, while the Bitwise AI Leaders ATP will track companies at the forefront of AI.

Bitwise partnered with Superstate in mid-August to enable tokenized ownership of shares in select Bitwise funds, bringing blockchain-based ownership to ETFs.

The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF is expected to be the first fund to offer that option.
