Partnership with Hailo
This collaboration combines Hailo's edge AI acceleration capabilities with QNX's real-time software foundation, aiming to help developers build AI-driven systems for safety and mission-critical applications, including robotics, industrial automation, and software-defined vehicles.
In a benchmark test using a Raspberry Pi 5 to drive the Hailo-8 AI accelerator, the two companies found that AI workloads running on QNX SDP 8.0 achieved up to 14x better performance consistency, 2.6x tighter latency distribution, 4.1% higher throughput, and 3.9% lower average latency compared to a real-time Linux environment.
Grant Courville, Senior Vice President of QNX Products and Strategy, stated: "A growing number of advanced embedded devices are seeking to unlock new capabilities through AI. QNX and Hailo are working together to help customers turn this potential into reality by bringing advanced AI capabilities to the edge on QNX's trusted and deterministic software foundation."
