Blockstream Tells "White Hat" Hackers Vulnerability Fixed, 4,000 Bitcoins Can Be Safely Returned

According to Bitcoin News, Blockstream has notified "white hat" hackers that the vulnerability has been fixed and 4,000 BTC can be safely returned. The hackers, who previously withdrew approximately 4,000 BTC from the Liquid network, expressed willingness to return the funds but required the vulnerability to be fixed first. The entire negotiation process was conducted publicly via Bitcoin OP_RETURN messages. The hackers initially proposed returning "most" of the BTC, then changed their stance to demand the vulnerability be fixed first: "Please fix the vulnerability first. The latest submitted code puts the chain at risk. Ensure every node is patched, and then we will safely return the funds after confirming the fix." The hackers also sent encrypted vulnerability details to Blockstream. Approximately two hours ago, Blockstream responded via a PGP-signed OP_RETURN message: "The cross-chain bridge nodes have been patched, and funds can be safely returned." Currently, 3,998.5 BTC remain under the hackers' control.
