Top Wealth Group Holding Ltd shares rose 39.42% to $1.45 in Tuesday's after-hours trading, as investors reacted positively to the leadership change at the Hong Kong-based holding company.

TWG disclosed in a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that CEO Kim Kwan Kings Wong resigned effective the same day.

The company noted there was no internal disagreement behind the move.

Wong will retain the position of non-executive chairman of the board.
