China-India Special Representatives' 25th Meeting Reaches 8-Point Consensus

The two sides established a working group on boundary demarcation and a border management and control working group to separately advance discussions on early progress in boundary demarcation and substantive achievements, as well as border management and control work. The two sides agreed to handle any situation on the ground in border areas in a timely manner through existing diplomatic and military channels, and to make efforts to resolve outstanding issues and avoid misunderstandings and misjudgments in the border areas under actual control. The two sides agreed to add two more meeting points for Special Representatives and establish two new border defense military hotlines in the eastern and middle sectors of the border. The two sides positively evaluated the progress achieved in cross-border cooperation and agreed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in border trade, pilgrimage, and other areas.
