Circle Internet Group Inc. shares traded higher on Thursday, extending the previous session's 9.56% gain, as cryptocurrency-related stocks rebounded broadly.
The rise comes as Bitcoin touched $70,000 on Wednesday, supported by falling Treasury yields and political developments related to U.S. digital asset regulation.
Nasdaq futures rose 0.09%, while S&P 500 futures slipped 0.01%.
Treasury Plan Pushes Yields Lower
On Wednesday, the U.S. Treasury expanded its bond buyback program, setting a minimum threshold of $4 billion for long-term debt purchases starting in September.
The move pulled the 10-year yield down to 4.67%, according to Trading Economics data. Lower yields reduce the relative appeal of fixed-income instruments, increasing investor demand for higher-risk assets such as crypto stocks.
White House Summit Boosts Sector Sentiment
Market sentiment gained additional support ahead of a planned White House meeting between President Trump and cryptocurrency industry executives.
The meeting follows the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's cancellation of a planned digital assets conference.
Milk Road analyst John Gillan noted that the administration is seeking legislative progress on the CLARITY Act to establish structured regulation for U.S. digital assets.
CRCL Stock: Key Technical Levels to Watch
At current pre-market levels, CRCL sits 27.6% above its 20-day simple moving average and 23.6% above its 50-day simple moving average, indicating a significant recent rally.
The question is that the price remains roughly 0.8% below the 100-day simple moving average and only slightly above the 200-day simple moving average, placing the stock in a "make-or-break" zone for long-term trend control.
The bigger-picture trend still carries baggage: the 20-day simple moving average remains below the 50-day simple moving average, and the death cross formed in June serves as a reminder that the long-term trend has been under pressure. This helps explain why the rally could quickly encounter selling pressure even as short-term momentum looks better.
Key resistance: $88.50
Key support: $84.50
Zooming out, the stock remains down 42.97% over the past 12 months and well below its 52-week high of $159.47, so this rally occurs within a larger recovery attempt rather than a fully repaired uptrend.
CRCL stock price action: Circle Internet Group shares rose 7.66% in pre-market trading Thursday to $84.61.
