Circle to Complete CCTP V1 Shutdown on December 1, Urges Prompt Migration to V2

August 28 news, Circle announced that the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol CCTP V1 (Legacy) will begin gradual deprecation starting October 31, 2026, with full decommissioning completed on December 1. If applications still route USDC through CCTP V1 contracts, they need to initiate migration immediately. Circle stated that CCTP V2 will become the sole recommended path, supporting standard and fast transfer modes, programmable composition features such as Hooks, and subsequent new public chain integrations. Circle has published a migration guide blog, reminding developers to complete contract and routing updates in advance to avoid disruption to cross-chain USDC flows.
