Cloudflare Inc. and Deutsche Telekom AG announced a strategic partnership on Tuesday to strengthen cybersecurity and resilience for European enterprises.
Cloudflare Expands European Footprint
Under the agreement, Deutsche Telekom will incorporate Cloudflare's security and connectivity products into its enterprise portfolio. The two companies will also directly interconnect their networks.
This collaboration enables Cloudflare to reach European enterprise customers more broadly through Deutsche Telekom's sales and service network.
Meanwhile, T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom's enterprise IT division, will expand its offerings in network performance, reliability, and security.
Focus on Cloud and AI Security
Deutsche Telekom will train and certify its employees on the Cloudflare platform to support consulting, implementation, and managed security services.
The two companies also plan to develop products targeting digital sovereignty, cloud and AI security, and post-quantum cryptography to address the growing cybersecurity and resilience demands of European enterprises.
Cloudflare estimates its addressable market at approximately $238 billion in 2026, growing to $384 billion by 2029.
The partnership with Deutsche Telekom is expected to help Cloudflare capture more of this market opportunity by expanding its enterprise distribution and service coverage across Europe through Deutsche Telekom and T-Systems.

Cloudflare Targets Post-Quantum Security
Additionally, Cloudflare said Tuesday it plans to launch a public certificate authority for issuing digital certificates that verify website identities and encrypt internet traffic.
This new service will support both traditional encryption and post-quantum Merkle Tree certificates. Cloudflare said the system will allow website operators to manage both certificate types through a single platform.
The company also agreed to acquire publicly trusted root CA key material from GlobalSign. The transaction is expected to close within two months, subject to customary conditions.
Planned for 2027 Launch
Cloudflare has applied to join the root certificate programs of Chrome, Apple, Microsoft, and Mozilla.
The company plans to begin issuing traditional certificates after completing these approval processes. Production issuance of MTC is expected to commence in Q1 2027.
Cloudflare said the new CA will also include automatic certificate replacement, public operational reporting, and support for legacy devices.
NET stock movement: As of Tuesday's writing, Cloudflare shares were down 0.45% at $352.39. The stock is approaching its 52-week high of $367.43.
