PANews, September 15 - Cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx has announced the cessation of its operations and the commencement of an orderly liquidation, citing the persistently sluggish crypto market, shrinking trading volume and liquidity, rising regulatory requirements, and compliance costs exceeding reasonable limits as reasons. Starting from September 15, 2026, the platform will gradually suspend services: on September 15, new user registrations and referral rewards will be halted, and futures will enter a reduce-only mode; on September 22, all non-spot services will be suspended; on September 29, spot trading will cease, with all CET in user accounts repurchased at 0.005 USDT/CET; on December 22, the withdrawal period ends, and the platform will cease operations. CoinEx states that its asset reserve ratio exceeds 100%, and user assets can be fully withdrawn. USDT not withdrawn by the deadline will be transferred to independent custody, with a monthly custody fee of 5% of the original balance charged. CoinEx states that this is the final official announcement, and any new announcements issued under the CoinEx name thereafter are fraudulent.
