Crypto media company Cointelegraph is seeking a sale, according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named because the matter is private. The company did not disclose the amount it is seeking in the sale. Prolonged flat and sideways crypto prices have diverted user attention away from crypto news, adversely impacting multiple digital asset news outlets. Cointelegraph's traffic has been severely hit by Google. After Google issued a manual action against it in October 2025, the crypto news site's organic traffic fell by approximately 80%, with the site disappearing from Google search results. Previously, in June 2025, its website also suffered a front-end vulnerability attack. Similarweb data shows that the site had over 12 million monthly visits in December 2024, while as of September 1, monthly visits were only slightly above 700,000. Cointelegraph was founded in 2013, and its LinkedIn page shows over 200 employees. The company's MENA operations were acquired by Luna Media Corporation in July 2022 to support its global and regional expansion. Cointelegraph did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
