DeepSeek V5 Plans Training Based on Huawei Ascend Chips

According to a November 3 report from the STAR Market Daily, a journalist learned from multiple industry chain sources that AI company DeepSeek's next-generation large model, DeepSeek V5, plans to train based on Huawei Ascend chips. Previously, Ascend chips were primarily used for inference tasks of DeepSeek's large models. The report stated that in late September this year, DeepSeek open-sourced infrastructure components for Huawei's Ascend computing platform, covering the TileLang high-level language compilation tool, computing libraries, and distributed communication libraries, which correspond one-to-one with previously open-sourced components for Nvidia's platform.
