On August 30, according to Cryptoslate, Deribit will remove its public "Proof of Reserves" page on September 1. Previously, users could verify via this system whether their balances were included in snapshots and compare the platform's aggregate liabilities against public wallet holdings.
It is noted that this adjustment follows Deribit's integration with Coinbase, with approximately 90% of its client assets now held under Coinbase custody arrangements. It should be noted that Deribit's existing proof-of-reserves system employs a privacy-preserving binary Merkle tree and daily asset snapshots, and the public proof of reserves itself does not cover all of its custodial assets. Deribit has not yet committed to providing a new public proof-of-reserves dashboard after September 1, nor has it confirmed whether it will continue to offer client-level Merkle verification.
