【Eurozone September Manufacturing PMI Steady at 52.7, Output Hits 55-Month High】

⑴ Flash estimates show that the S&P Global Eurozone Manufacturing PMI held steady at 52.7 in September 2026, slightly above the market expectation of 52.6.

⑵ Manufacturing output also remained robust, with the output index rising from 53.3 to 53.4, the highest level in 55 months.

⑶ Growth was supported by a renewed increase in new export orders, while employment remained broadly unchanged.

⑷ Firms also increased purchasing activity for the second consecutive month, though at a modest pace.

⑸ Higher input purchasing helped firms keep pre-production inventories broadly unchanged, ending a period of continuous decline since February 2023, while finished goods inventories also remained stable.

⑹ Supplier delivery times lengthened again, but the deterioration was the mildest since February.

⑺ Meanwhile, input cost inflation accelerated, and output prices rose at a faster pace.

⑻ Business confidence weakened, with manufacturers becoming less optimistic about the year ahead.
