SELLAS Life Sciences Group Inc. shares traded higher on Thursday. The stock has surged approximately 300% year-to-date.

FDA Approval Catalyst in Pancreatic Cancer

SLS shares rose over 2% on Thursday, likely driven by the FDA approval of Revolution Medicines Inc.'s Rasonque for the treatment of metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

Specifically, the drug targets patients who have received at least one prior systemic therapy or are not suitable for combination chemotherapy regimens.

Rasonque is the first approved targeted cancer therapy from a novel class of RAS multi-selective and mutation-selective inhibitors.

SLS009 Preclinical Potential in Solid Tumors

Investors should note that SELLAS is developing SLS009, primarily for frontline acute myeloid leukemia, with potential expansion into solid tumors.

SLS009 has demonstrated significant single-agent activity in RAS inhibitor-resistant pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells and exhibits synergistic effects with RAS inhibition mechanisms.

Preclinical data from these studies are expected to be presented at an upcoming medical conference.

Phase 2 AML Trial Progress and Milestones

SELLAS also highlighted progress on SLS009, including the initiation of a Phase 2 study in 80 newly diagnosed AML patients who are unlikely to benefit from standard therapies such as AZA/VEN.

Topline data from this study are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.

According to SELLAS, data also showed reductions in MCL-1 and surviving protein levels following treatment.

SLS Stock Movement: SELLAS Life Sciences shares rose 10.38% on Thursday to $15.15.
