Figma Inc shares moved higher Thursday, rising in tandem with a post-earnings surge in Salesforce Inc following its blowout second-quarter report, as market sentiment shifts toward viewing AI integration as a long-term growth catalyst for SaaS companies rather than a competitive threat.
Here's what investors need to know.
Figma stock showed exceptional strength. Why is FIG stock up today?
Salesforce's Blowout Earnings Trigger Broad Enterprise SaaS Rally
Figma's surge is part of a broader software sector rally sparked by Salesforce's blowout second-quarter earnings. Wednesday evening, Salesforce reported record second-quarter net sales of $11.35 billion with adjusted earnings per share of $5.90, while raising its full-year guidance.
Salesforce's significant beat and surging AI agent adoption eased investor concerns that AI would cannibalize traditional cloud software, lifting peer stocks including Figma in tandem.
Accelerating Q2 Revenue Growth and Raised Full-Year Guidance Underpin Rebound
Underpinning Thursday's buying was continued digestion of Figma's fiscal 2026 second-quarter results, released on August 5. The company reported revenue of $370.1 million, up 48% year-over-year, marking its third consecutive quarter of accelerating revenue growth.
Additionally, management raised its fiscal 2026 full-year revenue guidance to a range of $1.463 billion to $1.467 billion. As of July 31, among paying customers with annual recurring revenue exceeding $10,000, more than 50% were actively using the new Figma AI agents on a weekly basis.
Management Commentary Highlights Value Migration Up the Stack
On the second-quarter earnings call on August 5, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Dylan Field highlighted how generative AI is expanding Figma's total addressable market:
"Q2 marked Figma's third consecutive quarter of accelerating revenue growth, and as code becomes commoditized and value migrates up the stack, the opportunity in front of us only grows larger... By bringing together code, new creative capabilities, and AI workflows, we are empowering teams to build better digital products faster."
