Social-first on-chain trading platform fomo announced the acquisition of proprietary software and intellectual property developed by Mobula, an on-chain data aggregation and infrastructure company. Some Mobula team members will join fomo to help build its in-house data capabilities. The acquisition comes as fomo's user count has doubled since early July to over 1.9 million, with more than 30,000 new users added daily, over 1.2 million active users in August, and a rise to No. 3 in the iOS App Store Finance category. fomo's trading volume grew from $500 million in June to $1.5 billion in July, and August is on track to exceed $2.8 billion in monthly trading volume and approximately $17 million in monthly revenue. Co-founder and CEO Paul Erlanger said the acquisition of these assets gives the company greater control over its infrastructure as it scales. Mobula was founded by Sacha Marcus, who will join fomo's engineering team alongside CTO Sacha Delhoux and infrastructure lead Cyril Conan. fomo was founded in 2025, is headquartered in New York, and is backed by Index Ventures, Union Square Ventures, and Benchmark. The platform simplifies on-chain trading through a single account, with fomo Web accounting for approximately 25% of total volume, and has launched social trading features such as Clans.
