On October 13, the German think tank IFO said on Tuesday that if access to AI training data is further restricted, Germany could lose €155 billion (approximately $173.43 billion) in additional value added each year.
IFO research shows that by 2034, generative AI could add €440 billion in annual output to the German economy, but this increase would be reduced by €155 billion if access to training data is restricted. IFO expert Oliver Falck stated: "Anyone who wants to build a leading European AI model should not impose unnecessary restrictions on obtaining training data. You cannot have both." (Jin Shi)
