Hunter Biden, Son of Former US President, Plans to Launch Meme Coin LAPTOP

According to the Wall Street Journal, Hunter Biden will launch a meme coin named LAPTOP, inspired by his laptop incident, scheduled to go live on September 9 on Coinbase's Base network. The total token supply is 1 billion, with 30% held by the founding team (locked for 6 months, fully vested over 2 years); another 20% will be airdropped in two rounds to users who previously lost money on Trump's meme coin TRUMP, Hunter Biden's Substack subscribers and friends, as well as video journalist Andrew Callaghan's email list subscribers; the remaining 20% is allocated for charity donations, liquidity, exchange and market maker distributions, and foundation accounting, legal, administrative, and compliance costs.

The founding team has also established a burn mechanism based on 30 preset events. If these events occur within a specified timeframe (such as Democrats winning the 2028 presidential election, Bitcoin reaching a new all-time high, or LAPTOP's fully diluted valuation surpassing TRUMP), up to 30% of the token supply can be burned; if not achieved, the tokens will be proportionally donated to charity. Reports indicate that Hunter Biden has recently been frequently appearing on podcasts, news programs, and writing on Substack, sharing his views on cryptocurrency, and has previously commented on the dispute between the Trump family's World Liberty Financial project and Justin Sun.
