On Aug 31, according to Jinshi, iFlytek will open-source the Spark X2.5-4B and Spark X2.5-1.7B edge-side general-purpose models on Sept 1. Both models natively support a context window of up to 1M tokens, with key enhancements in reasoning, mathematics, and general understanding, targeting edge scenarios such as vehicles, smart hardware, and the Internet of Things. On Sept 7, iFlytek will also officially release the Spark X2.5 (293B) base model, further upgrading capabilities in coding and intelligent agents. Previously, the company revealed at its 2026 semi-annual results briefing that it will launch a new flagship general-purpose model built on a fully domestic computing power platform at this year's Global 1024 Developer Festival.
