Insider Selling
The stock movement stems from a Thursday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission showing that Executive Vice President and Chief Manufacturing and Supply Chain Officer Mark Brosius sold 77 shares on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday each, at prices ranging from $390.67 to $394.26.
The three-day sell-off totaled 231 shares, valued at approximately $90,777.
These transactions were executed under a pre-arranged insider trading plan that expires on February 14, 2027.
Malaysia Expansion
The stock movement also stems from Intuitive Surgical's Monday announcement that it signed a lease agreement with the Penang Development Corporation to build a new 316,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Penang, Malaysia.
The facility is expected to begin operations in 2028 and create 1,200 jobs by 2032, manufacturing surgical instruments and electromechanical equipment for the company's da Vinci surgical system.
Glenn Vavoso, Intuitive Surgical's Senior Vice President and President for the Asia-Pacific region, stated that "the Asia-Pacific region represents one of the most exciting growth opportunities for robotic-assisted surgery," adding that the move strengthens the company's ability to expand patient access in the region.
