KPMG recently released a report showing that global fintech investment reached $103.1 billion in the first half of 2026, with over 2,100 transactions. Among these, the payments sector attracted $44.2 billion, digital assets received $11.1 billion in investment, and AI-related fintech deals totaled 800 transactions with $21.4 billion in investment. By region, the Americas attracted $86.9 billion, with the U.S. contributing $80.8 billion; EMEA investment fell from $18 billion to $11.3 billion, while Asia-Pacific dropped from $7.1 billion to $4.6 billion. M&A deals totaled 394 transactions worth $67.9 billion, with a $24.3 billion acquisition of a global payments company serving as the core driver. The report noted that capital is highly concentrated in leading companies with mature business models and proven market validation, cross-border M&A remains active, and AI and digital assets continue to be investment hotspots, while sectors such as insurtech and wealthtech have seen notable adjustments or downturns.
