Lucid Group Inc shares fell in midday trading Monday, as a macro-driven selloff in growth stocks overshadowed recent operational progress.

Here is what investors need to know.

Lucid Group shares pulled back from recent levels. Why is LCID stock falling?

Auto Tariff Threats and Macro Pressures Drag Lucid Lower

Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to impose a 50% tariff on Canadian auto imports starting in 2027, which hit risk appetite for growth stocks.

Escalating trade tensions triggered a selloff in the auto supply chain, adding to existing pressure from elevated Treasury yields. The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield remains near 4.7%, while the 30-year yield holds at multi-year highs around 5.2%.

Traders are moving cautiously ahead of key economic catalysts later this week, including July personal consumption expenditures inflation data on Wednesday and a scheduled speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole symposium on Friday.

Dutch Retail Expansion Continues European Hybrid Model

The macro-driven pullback overshadowed an operational update from last week that confirmed Munsterhuis Autobedrijven as Lucid's first retail partner in the Netherlands.

The strategic partnership combines Lucid's Air sedan and Gravity SUV with Munsterhuis's established sales, leasing, and service infrastructure in Hengelo, complementing Lucid's existing Hilversum studio as part of its hybrid European retail rollout.

Investors Weigh $1.4 Billion Restructuring Plan Against Industry Pressures

Investors continue to weigh recent retail expansion and robotaxi testing progress against the company's second-quarter "operational reset" announced on August 4. The strategy outlines $1.4 billion in targeted cash flow savings through capital expenditure reductions, workforce optimization, and working capital improvements.

With a $3 billion total liquidity runway through 2027, investor focus remains anchored on the manufacturing ramp at the AMP-2 facility in Saudi Arabia and execution of the upcoming mid-size vehicle platform.

LCID Shares Slip Monday
