Meta Prepares to Launch Hatch AI Agent Platform

Meta is working to turn its massive AI investments into new consumer revenue streams. According to The Information, the company plans to launch an internally developed AI agent platform called Hatch in the coming weeks.

Meta is considering a tiered subscription model for Hatch. Its highest-priced plan could cost $199.99 per month and offer higher usage limits, the report said.

The platform will give users access to AI agents that can interact with websites and services, complete tasks, and use specialized tools through a customizable dashboard.

WhatsApp May Expand Agent Coverage

Meta is also preparing an AI agent platform for WhatsApp. The service will allow users to connect and interact with other agents via the messaging app. A limited rollout could begin as early as this week.

These projects advance CEO Mark Zuckerberg's push to build AI-driven businesses beyond Meta's core advertising operations.

Watermelon Adds to Meta's AI Roadmap

The company also plans to release a new AI model codenamed Watermelon in October, aiming to accelerate its agentic AI work and compete with OpenAI and Anthropic.

Meta plans to monetize AI through higher engagement, improved recommendations, assistants, messaging, and devices, rather than relying solely on model sales. Its open-weight strategy can lower AI costs while strengthening products that already reach billions of users.
