On October 8, according to Jinshi Data, the situation in the Middle East has sharply intensified in recent days. Houthi forces launched missiles targeting multiple sites including Yemen's Aden International Airport and Saudi Arabia's King Khalid Airport, with Saudi civil aviation authorities reporting the attacks had caused 3 deaths and 36 injuries. The Iranian president publicly stated that Iran is currently in a "full-scale war" and claimed its weapons production capacity has reached 2.5 times pre-conflict levels. Meanwhile, an advisor to Iran's Revolutionary Guard warned that the Strait of Hormuz shipping lane would be blocked soon.

The geopolitical conflict has directly impacted global shipping markets. Qatar has assembled 12 empty LNG carriers to prepare for demand from the strait's export resumption, while the UK Maritime Trade Operations office reported that an oil tanker was struck by artillery in waters near Qatar. Due to disrupted shipping routes, very large crude carrier freight rates have surged to $77 million. Additionally, US-Iran mediation has hit a stalemate, with Iran's foreign minister stating that conditions related to its nuclear program have been forwarded to mediators.
