Mobix Labs, Inc. shares surged over 40% on Tuesday after the company won an initial order for F-16 components, with deliveries already underway.
Wins Initial Order for F-16 Components
The company disclosed that a veteran-owned U.S. aerospace maintenance contractor supporting the U.S. Air Force's F-16 fleet placed an order with Mobix Labs' EMI Solutions division for EMI filter connectors produced at its military-certified facility in Irvine, California.
The company has completed the initial shipment, with the remaining order expected to be delivered in the coming weeks.
This F-16 order further expands Mobix Labs' defense and aerospace footprint across major U.S. fighter platforms.
The company also referenced its previously announced 5x growth in F-22 component orders, viewing this latest order as part of broader growth in defense/aerospace demand.
MOBX vs. Tech Sector Performance on Tuesday
MOBX significantly outperformed the tech sector on Tuesday, rising over 40%, while XLK gained just 0.42%. The tech sector currently ranks third among 11 sectors, trailing the energy sector and utilities sector.
Over a longer timeframe, the tech sector has risen 1.15% over the past 30 days and 6.70% over the past 90 days, providing a constructive backdrop for tech-related stocks. Nevertheless, MOBX's gains far exceed the sector's move, indicating that company-specific news was the primary driver of today's performance.
Mobix Labs Business Scope and Key End Markets
Mobix Labs Inc designs, develops, and sells components and systems for wireless and wired connectivity, RF, switching, and electromagnetic interference filtering technologies. Its product portfolio spans RF and millimeter-wave communications, millimeter-wave imaging, software-defined radios, and custom RF integrated circuits for defense, aerospace, commercial, and industrial markets.
The company derives most of its revenue from sales to equipment manufacturers, with the U.S. being its largest market region. This makes new fighter component orders particularly significant, as they may signal deeper program adoption and potentially more stable demand if follow-on orders build on the initial deliveries.
