The Irish Media Commission stated that the investigation will assess whether X effectively implements age safeguard measures and, in cases where adult content is permitted, provides adequate protection for users under 16. Regulators noted that X's parental control features may suffer from insufficient minimum requirements, difficulty in locating them, and a lack of adequate prompts for new users. If X is found to violate Irish cybersecurity regulations, regulators may impose a fine of up to 20 million euros or 10% of the company's relevant annual revenue.
