Nordic Next-Day Power Auction Price Surges 507% to €52.11/MWh; German Epex Spot Price Jumps 344% to €96.60/MWh

According to the latest auction data released by Nordic power exchange Nord Pool, the next-day power auction price in the Nordic region surged 507% from the previous trading day's €8.59/MWh to €52.11/MWh, an increase of over 500%. Meanwhile, day-ahead prices at Germany's Epex Spot power exchange also rose sharply, climbing 344% to €96.60/MWh. This dramatic price volatility is likely linked to recent meteorological changes in the Nordic region, fluctuations in power supply-demand dynamics, and phased shifts in Europe's overall energy supply. Such a substantial surge in electricity prices is also expected to have a notable impact on local industrial and commercial production operating costs, as well as residential daily electricity expenses.
