November 2 — According to TechCrunch, data center water monitoring startup Omen AI is acquiring competitor Aquatic Labs for $16 million in cash and stock. Both companies develop real-time water sensors: Omen AI's sensors detect elements in water, while Aquatic Labs' sensors detect water alkalinity.
The two teams are integrating their technologies into a single sensor, expected to launch early next year. Aquatic Labs CEO Allan Adams will serve as Chief Scientific Officer of the combined company. Omen AI previously completed a $31 million Series A funding round in June.
