Oracle Corp. shares rose more than 1% on Wednesday, standing out as relatively strong amid a weak tech sector, as investors looked to extend the stock's recent rebound. The Nasdaq fell 0.10%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.29%.
Oracle's gain appeared to be driven more by a technical rebound. The stock rose even as the tech sector declined roughly 0.8%, making Oracle a relative outperformer.
Broader market action was mixed. Seven sectors advanced, with an advance/decline ratio of 1.8. Healthcare led gains, up 2.99%, followed by materials, up 1.80%.
Oracle Expands Healthcare AI Push
Oracle on Wednesday expanded its Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent, rolling out new tools for clinical documentation, coding, and medical record review.
These new features, now available in the U.S., can suggest professional fee billing codes based on patient visits. Clinicians review and approve these suggestions before submission.
The AI agent can also review electronic health records and summarize relevant patient information, including medical history, lab results, and medications.
Additionally, Oracle added clinician-controlled dictation capabilities. The tool transcribes voice directly into clinical documentation for review and editing.
The new features build on previously announced AI tools for automated order creation. Oracle said its AI-driven note generation has saved U.S. healthcare physicians more than 400,000 hours since launching nearly two years ago.

The longer-term trend remains bearish. Oracle's 50-day SMA is below its 200-day SMA, following a death cross formed in January. Its 20-day SMA also remains below the 50-day SMA.
Meanwhile, the relative strength index stands at 49.45. This neutral reading suggests neither buyers nor sellers are firmly in control.
Resistance sits near $149, close to the 50-day SMA. Support is near $135.
Earnings and Analyst Outlook
Oracle's next earnings report is expected on September 8. Analysts expect earnings per share of $1.67, up from $1.47 in the same period last year. Revenue is projected at $19.13 billion, compared with $14.93 billion a year earlier.
Oracle holds a consensus buy rating, with an average price target of $258.50.
UBS maintained a buy rating on August 6 but cut its price target to $245. CLSA initiated coverage on July 20 with a hold rating and a $145 target. Bernstein maintained an outperform rating on June 11 and raised its price target to $325.
Edge Ranking
According to the Edge scorecard, Oracle shows strong performance in growth but remains weak in momentum and value.
Its growth score is 95.91, compared with a momentum score of 6.43 and a value score of 19.07. If Oracle breaks through the $149 resistance zone and rebuilds momentum, the setup could improve.
