Parsons Corporation shares traded flat on Monday, as the newly awarded $514 million missile defense contract option competed with broader weakness in U.S. equities for investors' attention.

S&P 500 futures pointed to a 0.3% decline, limiting the positive impact of the defense contract news.

Parsons Secures $514M Missile Defense Option

Parsons received a $514 million, two-year contract option from the Missile Defense Agency. The option falls under its existing TEAMS – Next missile defense systems engineering contract, originally awarded in 2021.

The work includes engineering, technical, analytical, and oversight support for the nation's integrated missile defense system.

Broader market conditions remained soft, with the Nasdaq down 1.31% and the S&P 500 down 0.30% in early trading, potentially dampening the stock's reaction to the contract news.

PSN Technicals Remain Under Pressure

Parsons stock remains in a longer-term repair phase after declining 39.04% over the past 12 months.

At $48.57, the stock trades 19.7% below its 200-day simple moving average of $60.52 and 6.2% below its 50-day simple moving average of $51.79, keeping the intermediate-term trend under pressure.

The near-term picture is more balanced. PSN trades 2.2% above its 20-day simple moving average of $47.52 but slightly below its 20-day exponential moving average of $48.66.

The 20-day simple moving average remains below the 50-day simple moving average, while the death cross formed in January persists.

The stock's relative strength index stands at 47.49, indicating neutral momentum.

Key resistance sits near $49.50, while $48.00 represents nearby support.

Earnings and Analyst Outlook

Parsons' next scheduled earnings report is set for November 4, 2026.

Analysts expect earnings per share of 77 cents, down from 86 cents a year ago, while revenue is projected at $1.63 billion, compared with $1.62 billion in the prior-year period.

The stock trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 33.8x.

Parsons holds a consensus Buy rating with an average price target of $59.14.

Baird upgraded the stock to Outperform on August 21 and raised its price target to $57. Goldman Sachs maintains a Neutral rating, cutting its price target to $60 on August 3. UBS maintains a Buy rating, lowering its price target to $58 on July 30.

Edge Shows Weak Momentum

Parsons' Edge scorecard shows weak momentum, with more neutral readings across quality, value, and growth.

The stock's momentum score stands at 6.12, quality at 43.9, value at 31.85, and growth at 45.83.

The weak momentum reading aligns with PSN trading below its key longer-term moving averages, while the remaining scores point to a more balanced fundamental setup.

PSN price action: Parsons stock fell 0.46% to $48.82 at the time of Monday's data release.
