On August 29, according to CryptoSlate, Polygon Labs issued an urgent notice stating that after the activation of the Austin and Kyoto hard forks, Polygon PoS nodes still running on older versions of Bor or Heimdall have fallen out of consensus and must upgrade to catch up with the network. Austin was activated at mainnet block 91,949,700, requiring Bor v2.10.0 or higher; Kyoto was activated at height 51,533,000, requiring Heimdall v0.11.0 or higher. Austin fixed two types of Bor resource exhaustion risks: L1-to-L2 bridge state sync events not counted toward the gas limit could slow down block processing; and the TxDependency field, which had no size limit, could cause peer nodes to crash.
