Samsung Electronics' foundry division has improved the yield rate of its 2nm process to nearly 60%, a significant improvement from 30% in mid-last year. With yield stabilizing, Samsung has shifted engineering focus to power consumption and thermal optimization, and is accelerating the development of its more powerful second-generation process, SF2P, targeting mass production within this year. Strategically, Samsung plans to supply 2nm chips to Tesla next year, using this as a springboard to enter the market of major tech customers.
