Cryptocurrency traders have lowered their expectations for Bitcoin reaching $100,000 by 2026, despite SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci remaining optimistic about the asset reclaiming this key milestone.
Prediction Market Skeptical of $100K
Polygon-based Polymarket currently gives Bitcoin only an 8% probability of breaking $100,000 by December 31, down from a peak of 92% in January and 50% in May.
In fact, traders price in less than a 15% probability of Bitcoin hitting $90,000 this year, with only a 31% chance of breaking $80,000.
The market is significantly bearish, giving Bitcoin a 76% probability of falling below $60,000. Approximately $53.75 million has been wagered on that outcome.
Scaramucci Maintains Long-Term Bullish Stance
Despite Bitcoin's prolonged bear market, forecasts surrounding its price trajectory have intensified.
SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci stated that Bitcoin "will rise slowly for a while, but will eventually reclaim levels above $100,000." However, he did not specify a concrete timeframe.
Scaramucci argued that Bitcoin's roughly 55% drawdown is shallower than in previous cycles, indicating a larger net buyer base is positioning for the next bull phase.
Notably, Standard Chartered also maintained its Bitcoin price target of $100,000 by the end of 2026 in a research report released last month.
Price action: As of this writing, BTC is trading at $64,336, up 0.43% over the past 24 hours, according to
