October 10 - According to Reuters, sources familiar with the matter said that chip startup Nuvacore, backed by Sequoia Capital, is seeking several hundred million dollars in funding at a valuation of approximately $2.5 billion.
Nuvacore was founded only six months ago and has previously completed a seed round led by Sequoia Capital. It has not yet launched a product and plans to develop a new type of central processing unit (CPU) for data centers. As AI applications continue to drive growing demand for computing power, the data center CPU market has attracted investor attention. CPUs are used to coordinate tasks for AI chips and run autonomous AI software agents, optimized for common computing tasks in data centers and AI infrastructure.
