According to a report released by oracle provider RedStone, the scale of tokenized real-world assets (RWA) on the Stellar network surpassed $3 billion in July, while the network's DeFi total value locked (TVL) stands at only $213 million, a significant gap between the two. The report notes that the issuance pace of RWA far exceeds the development of lending markets and collateral pools, which has become a bottleneck constraining on-chain asset utilization. RedStone attributes the growth mainly to four products: Amundi and Spiko's overnight funds ($713 million), Spiko's Treasury fund ($536 million), Ondo's USDY (over $533 million), and VuMe Bond 2030 ($500 million). DefiLlama data shows Stellar's network TVL at $232.72 million, with lending protocol Blend locking in $150.03 million, but the pool accepting RWA as collateral is only approximately $2 million. The report argues that the settlement times of traditional Treasury, credit funds, and money market funds do not match the instant liquidation needs of on-chain lending, and 24/7 price oracles are key to making RWA viable collateral. Currently, Stellar has integrated 55 SEP-40 price feeds from RedStone, covering Treasury bonds, corporate credit, tokenized gold, and money market funds. Additionally, the report mentions that the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) plans to bring custody assets onto Stellar by 2027, with its custody asset scale reaching $114 trillion.
