August 29 news, according to CoinDesk, a survey by the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) shows that the classic Bitcoin narrative of "digital gold" has limited persuasive power among average Americans, leaving respondents confused and ranking last in national testing. Instead, the most compelling messages center on a sense of control, past performance, and safety and convenience—emphasizing that buyers don't need to "go all in" and can decide their own investment amounts, "even if it's just $10." The study found that among the "persuadable middle group," which accounts for 52% of respondents, the share completely uninterested dropped from 39% to 32% after being shown 19 messages, while the share very interested rose from 19% to 24%. Personal financial advisors, retirement planning experts, and friends and family who already hold Bitcoin are the most trusted messengers, while celebrities and influencers rank last.
