Super Micro Computer shares moved lower on Monday amid overall weakness in the technology sector. The Nasdaq fell 1.17%, the S&P 500 slipped 0.38%, and the technology sector was the weakest performer, down 2.1%, pressuring momentum-driven server and AI infrastructure stocks.
Investors are also reassessing Super Micro Computer's fiscal fourth-quarter results. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.70, beating the 62-cent estimate, but revenue of $11.12 billion fell short of the $12.33 billion expectation. Management said demand remains strong, but data center readiness issues—including power availability, liquid cooling installation, and network infrastructure—delayed some deliveries.
Investigation Finds No Executive Misconduct
Separately, Super Micro Computer completed an independent investigation led by its board regarding export control allegations. The review found no evidence that executives were aware of the alleged diversion scheme, nor evidence of direct sales to restricted parties or an impact on financial statements. The company was not named as a defendant in the March indictment, which involved two former employees and a former contractor. Super Micro Computer confirmed it has taken personnel actions against individuals who violated company policies.
SMCI Technicals: Key Support, Resistance, and Trends
From a trend perspective, SMCI remains trading above key moving averages, sitting approximately 4.3% above the 20-day simple moving average and about 9.9% above the 200-day simple moving average, indicating that the medium-term uptrend from summer lows has not fully broken down. Meanwhile, the longer-term backdrop remains mixed, as the 50-day simple moving average still sits below the 200-day simple moving average, reflecting a "death cross" formed in December.
Momentum is best explained by the relative strength index, which stands at 53.71—neutral, consistent with a stock digesting gains rather than trending aggressively in one direction.
Key resistance: $36.50
Key support: $29
SMCI stock performance: At the time of publication Monday, Super Micro Computer shares were down 6.63% to $34.77.
