Tesla Raises Cybertruck Prices by Over 7% Amid Soft Sales

Tesla has raised prices on its Cybertruck electric pickup by up to $5,000 in the U.S., affecting select trims.

New Cybertruck Price Structure

According to the company's website, the EV giant increased the price of the dual-motor all-wheel-drive Cybertruck to $74,990, up from $69,990 — a 7.1% hike. The mid-tier Premium all-wheel-drive version rose 6.2% to $84,990, from $79,990.

However, the top-tier Cyberbeast version remains unchanged at $99,990. Notably, the price gap between the entry-level dual-motor and the top-tier Cyberbeast has narrowed to roughly $25,000. The reason for the price adjustment at this time remains unclear.

The EV giant launched the entry-level version earlier this year at $59,990, with a range of 325 miles but a reduced towing capacity of 7,500 lbs. However, the price hikes may do little to boost sales, as registrations in the U.S. totaled just 7,133 Cybertrucks through May 2026.

In June, the billionaire promoted the Cybertruck's upcoming over-the-air update featuring the company's Actually Smart Summon feature, claiming the truck can autonomously navigate parking lots and drive to the owner.

Tesla's Cybercab Ambitions

Analysts at investment bank JPMorgan, following a meeting with Tesla management, issued a report stating the company is slowing production ramp of the Model Y Robotaxi to prioritize the Cybercab, with future models to be built on the Cybercab platform.

However, Gerber Kawasaki investor Ross Gerber expressed skepticism over these claims, questioning the full self-driving system and stating his earlier doubts were confirmed — that HW4/AI4 chips cannot deliver unsupervised FSD. The report noted FSD V15 promises improvements but requires more computing power.

Price action: TSLA shares rose 0.78% in premarket trading Tuesday to $351.66.
