Visa Inc. shares traded higher on Monday after financial disclosures showed President Donald Trump's investment accounts purchased millions of dollars in Visa stock during June 2026.
Visa stock is challenging resistance levels. Why is V stock at highs?
Trump Account Disclosures Show June Visa Purchases
The August financial disclosure covering Trump's investment activity revealed how active his accounts were in June: more than 1,000 individual securities trades totaling between $78.1 million and $263.1 million, including a meaningful position added in Visa.
CNBC reported that Trump's account cut $1 million to $5 million each from Meta and Motorola on June 18, and on the same day used the same amount to buy Visa, Berkshire Hathaway, Cintas, and Mastercard.
Such trades tend to attract investor attention because they offer insight into how the world's most-watched public figure allocates his money, and purchases can be read as a confidence signal in the stock, though this alone is not a reason to buy or sell.
Visa Chart Shows Stock in Clear Uptrend
Visa's technical picture supports bullish sentiment around the stock. The stock trades above all major trend lines, sitting 3.8% above its 20-day moving average, 7.4% above its 50-day, 13.1% above its 100-day, and 14.5% above its 200-day, an alignment that typically prompts traders to seek buy-the-dip opportunities rather than short rallies. The 20-day moving average holding above the 50-day further confirms that near-term momentum remains in favor of buyers.
Momentum supports this view. The MACD line sits above its signal line with a positive histogram, a combination that typically means buying pressure is outweighing selling pressure relative to the stock's recent levels. The golden cross formed in July keeps the longer-term backdrop constructive, often making trend-following investors inclined to buy on weakness rather than avoid the stock.
One point worth watching: the stock has now broken above its prior 52-week high of $373.97, and if it fails to hold this breakout, the stock could slip back toward its rising short-term moving averages fairly quickly. Traders are watching $348.50 as a support level, a price where buyers previously stepped in and which also aligns closely with the rising 50-day moving average, a zone that typically holds in uptrends.
