August 30 news, according to News.bitcoin, the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), which represents approximately 5,000 community banks, opposes the CLARITY Act, emphasizing there is no room for compromise on stablecoin yield issues. ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey stated that "loopholes" related to stablecoin rewards must be completely closed, with no middle-ground solution. ICBA claims stablecoins could drive $1.3 trillion in deposits out of the banking system and reduce local lending by $850 billion. Rebeca Romero Rainey said there is no indication that cryptocurrencies would replace these deposits and redirect them back into local communities.
