AI is being marketed as "magic" that will replace all jobs and even more, but the reality is more like an extremely expensive, unproven, and unstable cloud software.

Zitron pointed out that the current AI industry's revenue chain is highly dependent on companies like OpenAI and Anthropic, which are still posting massive losses, and these companies in turn rely on continued capital injections from giants such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. He also questioned that big tech companies rarely disclose real AI revenue separately, often using vague metrics like "annualized run rate" instead. Zitron believes AI is real technology, but the commercial narrative, revenue expectations, and capital cycle surrounding it have run far ahead of actual profitability.
