VolitionRx Limited shares surged on Thursday after the diagnostics company reported a 112% year-over-year increase in first-half 2026 revenue to $1.4 million, while its clinical and commercial operations continued to expand.

The multinational epigenetics company demonstrated strong momentum across its core diagnostic verticals, including sepsis monitoring, human oncology detection, and companion animal health, positioning the company to tap into a total addressable market opportunity exceeding $26 billion.

Sepsis Validation and Point-of-Care Progress

In the sepsis segment, Critical Care Medicine published independent peer-reviewed data confirming that the Nu.Q NETs H3.1 biomarker serves as an independent predictor of 28-day mortality and renal replacement therapy.

This validates the clinical utility of the assay in severe sepsis, with a total addressable market of $2.8 billion. Volition is preparing to launch recruitment for the French government-funded DETECSEPS evaluation program, valued at $7.3 million, in September 2026.

Meanwhile, the company confirmed the clinical relevance of its point-of-care fingerstick lateral flow prototype, which is expected to extend testing reach beyond central laboratories.

Cancer Detection Milestones and Reimbursement Strategy

In oncology, Volition published clinical data showing its Capture-Seq platform identifies over 95% of stage I and II early-stage cancers with 95% specificity, supporting an early detection market opportunity with an annualized scale of $23 billion.

Additionally, following preliminary pre-submission meetings, the company is actively preparing to submit a conditional reimbursement application for its lung cancer test in France by the end of 2026.

Veterinary Pipeline Progress and Commercial Partnerships

The company also broadened its veterinary pipeline by submitting a manuscript for its Nu.Q Vet feline lymphoma test. Following peer-reviewed publication, this study will unlock an expected contract milestone payment of $5 million.

To support global distribution, Volition has transferred its Nu.Q NETs assay to Sysmex Corporation's platform and is maintaining active discussions with more than a dozen major liquid biopsy and diagnostics companies.

VNRX Price Action: VolitionRX shares rose 100.47% in Thursday premarket trading to $0.68. The stock is trading near its 52-week low of $0.32.
