Adobe Inc shares surged on Thursday. The rally was driven by a broad rebound in the enterprise software sector, sparked by Salesforce Inc, which reported its fiscal Q2 2027 financial results after the close on Wednesday. The Nasdaq rose 1.19%, the S&P 500 gained 0.73%, and the technology sector led all groups with a 2.84% advance.

Salesforce posted revenue of $11.35 billion, beating the consensus estimate of $11.32 billion. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $5.90, versus expectations of $3.27. Total revenue grew 11% year over year.

Separately, on Wednesday, BofA Securities maintained an Underperform rating on Adobe while raising its price target to $220.

Technical Analysis

From a trend perspective, ADBE has returned to a constructive position: its share price is 8.5% above the 20-day simple moving average and 7.2% above the 200-day simple moving average, indicating that the rebound has regained medium-term momentum. The stock is also 21.2% above the 50-day simple moving average, reflecting how rapid the recovery has been since the June swing low.

However, the longer-term backdrop remains mixed, as although the 20-day simple moving average sits above the 50-day simple moving average, the 50-day remains below the 200-day. This configuration often produces a choppy "repair" phase—during which rallies may work, but overhead supply can quickly emerge near prior breakdown levels.

Key resistance: $306.50—a nearby pivot zone where the rebound could stall, sitting just above the current price and representing the next significant upside test.

Key support: $251—a prior demand zone, closely aligned with the 50-day exponential moving average, which could serve as a critical level if the rally fades.

ADBE outperformed its technology sector peers on Thursday, rising 5.42% versus the sector's 2.84% gain, an outperformance of about 2.59 percentage points. This relative strength was especially notable today, as the technology sector ranked first among 11 sectors while most others declined.

ADBE price action: As of Thursday's close, Adobe shares were up 5.80% at $289.34.
