Why Did Infleqtion Rise Nearly 5% on Thursday?

Infleqtion Inc. shares rose nearly 5% on Thursday as investors rotated back into growth-focused tech stocks. The Nasdaq rose 0.95%, and the S&P 500 gained 0.54%.

NASA Adds $20 Million for Infleqtion Space Quantum Sensors

Separately, Infleqtion said Thursday that NASA awarded it a $20 million follow-on contract to develop space-based quantum sensors.

This award brings NASA's total investment in the project to $40 million. Infleqtion will build and test key sensor hardware to measure subtle variations in Earth's gravitational field.

The technology could improve monitoring of water, ice, and natural resources. Development will run through 2027, with a target launch to low-Earth orbit in 2030.

Technical Analysis

Infleqtion shares are trading 15% above their 20-day simple moving average (SMA) of $12.36. The stock is also 20.4% above its 50-day SMA of $11.80 and 10.4% above its 100-day SMA of $12.88.

Additionally, the 20-day SMA remains above the 50-day SMA. This bullish alignment indicates buyers still control the medium-term trend.

The MACD indicator is above its signal line, and its histogram is positive, suggesting stronger upward momentum.

The stock is attempting to reclaim ground lost after breaking below support in August. Resistance sits near $14.50, with support around $13.00.

Analyst Outlook

Infleqtion holds a consensus Buy rating with an average price target of $21.33. Citi raised its target to $22 on August 21. Wedbush maintained an Outperform rating and $20 target on August 3. Canaccord Genuity initiated coverage on July 2 with a Buy rating and $22 target.

Infleqtion has a 6.62% weighting in the Defiance Pure Quantum ETF. It also holds a 4.22% weight in both the Corgi Quantum Computing ETF and the Corgi Quantum Computing 2x Daily ETF.
