Marvell Technology Inc. shares surged nearly 7% on Monday, as semiconductor stocks rebounded from last week's selloff, supported by renewed buying interest in tech stocks.

The Nasdaq rose 1.66%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.65%. The technology sector led all 11 sectors, climbing 1.90%. Chip stocks advanced as investors returned to the sector after last week's weakness. CoreWeave Inc. also rose after Goldman Sachs upgraded its rating.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is poised to snap its longest losing streak since the 2008 financial crisis.

Technical Analysis: Long-Term Trend Remains Bullish

Despite recent selling pressure, Marvell remains in a long-term uptrend.

The stock trades approximately 38% above its 200-day simple moving average of $176.65. Its 50-day moving average also remains above the 200-day moving average, following a golden cross formed in October 2025.

However, the stock remains 7.1% below its 20-day moving average of $262.45, indicating a short-term rebound is still in the making.
The relative strength index stands at 45.81, suggesting neutral momentum.

Immediate resistance sits near $254.50, close to the 20-day exponential moving average of $254.70. Meanwhile, $200.50 serves as a deeper support level if selling pressure reemerges.

Analyst Outlook

Wall Street maintains a bullish outlook. Marvell holds a consensus Buy rating with an average price target of $348.72.

On October 7, UBS raised its price target to $350, Jefferies lifted its target to $450, and JPMorgan increased its target to $360.

However, Marvell's price-to-earnings ratio of 75.4 reflects high market expectations for future growth.

Edge Ranking: Strong Growth and Momentum

Marvell's Edge ranking shows strong growth and momentum, but a weaker valuation profile.

The stock scores 98.77 on momentum and 99.53 on growth. However, its value score stands at just 1.85.

These readings indicate that despite elevated valuations, investors remain bullish on Marvell's growth prospects. Still, high expectations could make the stock more susceptible to sharper pullbacks.

ETF Holdings

Marvell also holds significant positions across multiple exchange-traded funds, including the State Street SPDR NYSE Technology ETF with a weight of 6.58%, and the YieldMax Semiconductor Portfolio Option Income ETF with a weight of 5.85%.

The REX AI Equity Premium Income ETF holds a 9.07% weight in Marvell.

Therefore, changes in these fund holdings could impact trading activity in Marvell stock.
